With TV shows like Medium, The Ghost Whisperer, and even The Dog Whisperer, I thought it would be fun to try something like that in a library. Why not have a page with psychic powers...or some kind of otherworldly connection to books? I should be able to come up with another episode or two with this kind of theme in mind, so check back soon!

My favorite is the patron who can't remember what book they want: "I'm looking for a fiction book that's this big and has maybe white or cream cover. It's about a boy and a girl that fall in love." Hmmm, let me think.
Ah, the guaranteed way to freak a patron out: when they ask you to help find a book that is on your truck or in your hand, just hand it to them without saying a word. Oddly enough, that has happened to me on a few occasions. It never fails to get a wide-eyed, slackjawed reaction. XD
Moving around a lot has done more than just broaden my horizons. I've had to fill out forms that require listings of all the schools I attended and their counties. Years later I answered the phone at the library and someone said, "What county is Cincinnati, Ohio in?" And without missing a beat (as they say) I chimed, "Hamilton!" There was a pause, then, tentatively, "Th-thank you." "You're WELcome!" Next.
That's hilarious! I could totally use that power when I'm looking for books that people have requested to be put on hold for them. There's always that one book that I can't find.
