With TV shows like Medium, The Ghost Whisperer, and even The Dog Whisperer, I thought it would be fun to try something like that in a library. Why not have a page with psychic powers...or some kind of otherworldly connection to books? I should be able to come up with another episode or two with this kind of theme in mind, so check back soon!

Our library system has a large number of employees and I'm still somewhat new to it, so I can't be totally at fault for not knowing who's who. In all truth, I find it commendable for a person to stay at a job for a long time and see it through to retirement, especially if they still enjoy what they do. And who can turn down free food?

Remember those microfilm machines from when you were younger? I barely do. Well anyway, our library has a few machines so people can look up archived magazine or newspaper articles. We get all kinds of questions and concerns about their use, so this cartoon is a result. It may not be a very original idea, but I couldn't resist.
Almost forgot to put in the logo this time, which explains why I barely fit it into the upper left corner in tiny print.

No, I wasn't inspired to do this cartoon from those really strange caveman commercials made by that insurance company. Instead, it was during a conversation with R.K. after I finished the anniversary cartoon a couple of posts ago. I had already visited the library fifty years in the past...why not turn the time machine dial back even further?

Here's another cartoon about the library at closing time and last minute stragglers. Whenever I head for the exit doors, I usually witness a member of our staff having to turn a patron away with some desperate excuse to enter. Turning patrons away at closing has got to be one of toughest jobs, in my opinion.
