Recently I was riding the bus home and a passenger sitting across from me had their cell phone pointed right in my direction. Of course they might have been been scrolling through a list of contacts or playing games or whatever else you do with cell phones these days...or they could have been taking my picture and text messaging friends about the idiot sitting in the seat nearby. All in an instant...

Whenever I see people taking pictures of other stuff and I know I'll end up in the background somewhere, I try to get the heck out of there. Very rarely do people actually want to take pictures of random strangers, although I have seen it happen with some very interesting results....

I actually creeped myself out by wanting to snap random interesting people on the train, just after I got my camera everything seemed like a great subject... but I never could quite get past how you ask a complete stranger if you can take their picture. That's an awkward moment. Cell phones are a menace, but I'm a Luddite.

I'm one of those people who take pictures of strangers. Angie's on the right track. :)

And I'm sure the staff at the Vancouver Public Library (in BC) felt like the librarian in the strip when my wife and I were taking pictures there. If you've ever seen the Central Branch of VPL, you'd understand why anyone would be taking lots of photos. :)

Sounds like I need to take a trip to the Central Branch of VPL. Thanks Mushroom!
