Here's another info desk encounter similar to the cartoon from a couple of posts ago. This time I tried to imagine what it would be like to communicate with a Paris Hilton type of patron.

These are great! I'm a former librarian and I can really relate to many of these. We actually had a book on puppy obedience training that was returned with the corners chewed off. Then there was the Memory Book that was always several months overdue. The best one was when a patron returned a brand new popular novel with its new cover all shriveled up. She had heard on TV that microwaving library books for a few seconds killed germs. Unfortunately, there was actual aluminum foil used in the illustration of the cover....it melted.

That's amazing!
I mean that she stepped away from the cell phone long enough to actually talk to the person at the desk.
Most patrons won't bother.
